Essential Job Duties (General Description):
Instrument Technicians will be required to primarily verify the field based as-built condition of instrumentation and controls. This includes, but is not limited to, temperature, pressure, flow, composition, and level devices. The technician will be also responsible for generating as-built drawings for instrument field panels, junction boxes, marshalling panels, etc. The technician is also responsible for gathering available field information related to the specific instrument installed in the field, (type, failure direction, tag information, actuation method, etc.) and transferring updates to existing drawings for CAD processing.

Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities/Other:
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant industrial experience.
Maintenance experience preferred.

Ability and willingness to safely complete required job tasks.
Ability to read and interpret:
Piping and Instrument Diagrams
Instrument Loop Diagrams
Instrument Specification Sheets
Panel and Junction Box Drawings
Wiring Diagrams
Ladder logic
One-Line Diagrams
Power Distribution Drawings
Experience working with both pneumatic and electronic instrumentation.
Experience with the design concepts behind DCS and PLC control.
Experience with field verification and generation of power distribution drawings
Ability to interpret mechanical piping diagrams in the field to ensure that the representation of the corresponding instrumentation is accurate.
Ability to identify and interpret standard ISA symbology related to instrumentation installations.
Technology degree on instrumentation and controls.

Optional but preferred skill:
Ability to read and interpret ladder logic
Exposure to INTools and/or other modern instrument database systems
AutoCAD and/or Microstation CAD skills
