Responsibilities:
- Implements and coordinates policies and programs covering several of the following: recruiting, compensation and benefits, training, employee and labor relations, and personnel research for the West Texas District.
- Has first line supervisory responsibility of a HR Analyst.
- Provides HR consulting expertise to all levels of management and employees within Baker Hughes.
- Consults with employees and managers to address root causes of issues and resolves through a systematic and analytical approach
- Assures compliance with all applicable laws and corporate policies/guidelines and identifies opportunities to develop and implement new practices/guidelines to achieve business goals;
- Implements organizational HR initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness, including performance management systems (compensation, mid-year and year-end reviews),
- Ensures that all HR administrative functions are handled in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assists in establishing policies and procedures including disciplinary policies and monitor their application and enforcement to ensure fairness and consistency.
- Advises, reviews and approves any disciplinary issues/concerns performance issues, discharge. Provide guidance to managers with regards to salary administration, recruitment, selection, etc.
- Resolves internal employee complaints and those filed with federal, state and local agencies involving employment practices.
Skill Requirements:
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
- Solid PC skills including MS office, and presentation programs
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proven HR expertise and issue resolution skills
Abilities:
- Candidate will operate in a high growth, high turnover, fact paced, and high performance environment. Currently will support 400 – 500 employees.
- Job related contact would involve all employees including top management, vendors, a variety of local, state, and federal governmental agencies. The majority of the contacts require tact and diplomacy
- Ability to take appropriate initiative and make good judgments.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor Degree
- PHR/SPHR Certification preferred but not required
- 6+ years previous Human Resource experience, or combination of education and experience
